Neighborhoods of Sisters Country Sisters is surrounded by a large number of neighborhoods nestled in the ponderosa pines or settled among the sage and rock canyons of the high desert. Whatever your lifestyle, you’ll find the place to suit you somewhere in the Sisters Country. Sisters itself has a variety of different neighborhoods offering everything from townhouses to craftsman style homes on modest lots. Many townhomes can be found very close to the downtown core, making a walking or bicycling lifestyle easy. Other neighborhoods like Buck Run, Creekside, Timber Creek and Coyote Springs lie along Whychus Creek, offering the convenience of in-town living with a tree-studded sense of rural seclusion. A mix of single-family homes and townhomes with mountain views can be found at Pine Meadow Village at the western edge of town. Outside of town, you can find semi-rural living in pine forest neighborhoods like Tollgate — 440 lots located two miles west of town on Highway 20. First established in the early 1970s, streets are named after horse tack and related equipment and the 1/2-acre lots are suitable for backyard horse owners. Recent sales have gone for as high as $515,000 and as low as $167,500, with a median sale price of $280,000. Crossroads lies about four miles west of town off Highway 242. Containing 200 home sites, the development is nearly built out, and there is a wide range of housing from manufactured homes to custom designs. Recent sales were for $245,000 to $280,000. You can find mini-ranch properties at Desert Sun or find a home along a beautiful meadow in Indian Ford or Sage Meadow. Home prices there are difficult to average, because there is such a variety of home types, views and acreage. Or you can venture out into the rimrock country to find a home among juniper and sage in Squaw Creek Canyon Estates. Aspen Lakes developed in the late 1980s to early 1990s as a clustered golf course development. Homes in Aspen Lakes sell rarely and are mostly custom upper-end homes that are priced accordingly. Camp Sherman has its own residential area called Metolius Meadows, where you can live amid the splendor of the Metolius Basin. Realtors in the area can guide you through the process of getting to know Sisters Country. There are many other small neighborhoods in the region that make up the tapestry of the Sisters Country.
