Sisters is a golfing mecca with unmatched mountain scenery. From the championship-caliber courses of the area it is possible to view snowcapped mountains and hear the strains of high country breezes play in the trees.

There are three 18-hole golf courses within the immediate Sisters area with a number of other fine courses only a short driving distance away.

Closest to Sisters is Aspen Lakes. There are spectacular views of the Cascade mountains from several locations on the course. Fairways are generous and the course is very playable by golfers of varying skill levels. Tee times: 541-549-4653.

Black Butte Ranch, located seven miles west of Sisters, has two 18-hole golf courses. The Big Meadow Course has been completely renovated and has won critical acclaim for keeping true to its original design while being updated to modern standards. The course is also home to Robert’s Pub, named for legendary course designer Robert Muir Graves. Glaze Meadow Golf Course is undergoing a $3.75 million renovation. Tee times for both Black Butte Ranch courses may be made by calling 541-595-1500.

Eagle Crest is just a short 15-mile drive down Highway 126 toward Redmond. Eagle Crest offers a pair of courses to test the skills of the region’s golfers. The Ridge Course has hosted many major regional tournaments and is known a “a driver’s dream” with ample landing areas for those who like to hit long. The Resort Course hosts the Oregon High School State Championships and has two distinctly different nines to challenge all aspects of your game. Eagle Crest also offers a short 18-hole Challenge Course. Tee times: 866-583-5212.

If you’re looking for an afternoon of golf that’s perfect for the whole family —kids to seniors, visit the Old Back Nine at Mountain High. It’s a nine-hole public course, featuring brooks, ponds, and beautiful mountain views. This course is fun for all skill levels and offers exciting golf for the nontraditional golfer. Tee times: 541-382-1111.
