Nast Traveler, Golf Digest and Travel & Leisure magazines.
The Ranch was awarded Oregon’s best ratings for golf and
scenery by the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler “Gold
List” of the world’s top resorts.
BBR was
a family-owned cattle ranch from the late 1800s to
1969, when planning began for a community-oriented family recreation
resort.
A succession of owners cared for this special place, preserving
magnificent stands of trees and protecting the area from development.Sensitivity
to preserving the beauty, heritage and ecological value has
been a cornerstone of the development of the Ranch.
Brooks
Resources Corporation finally developed the Ranch in 1970. The
Ranch ambiance is maintained with a productive cattle operation
during the summer months.
Through
all the changes, some things will remain the same at Black Butte
Ranch. The unrivaled natural beauty of its meadows framed by
snow-clad Cascade peaks will continue to provide a peaceful
relaxing setting where you can lose the troubles of the world
in a magnificent Central Oregon sunset.
