Hoodoo Winter Carnival — Saturday, February 9, 2008
Celebrate winter and all the recreational opportunities that come with the season. Children’s games, annual dummy downhill, barbeque and tube racing at the Autobahn are the highlights of this annual event, now in its 27th year. John Craig Memorial Nordic Ski Race, Mail Carry — Saturday, March 15, 2008
Come ski the Pacific Northwest’s most scenic and historic Nordic event! The course traverses the beautiful McKenzie Pass Highway just 9 miles west of Sisters and offers spectacular mountain views. Backcountry over the top mail carry – 30K. Tour to Dee Wright Observatory or scenic viewpoint and back, all levels and abilities can ski the road. Aid stations and EMT support. The Small Farmer’s Journal DRAFT HORSE & HORSEDRAWN EQUIPMENT AUCTION and SWAP MEET held at the Sisters Rodeo Grounds combines a huge auction, a vibrant jam-packed swap meet, and educational demonstrations. The 7th Annual Metolius River Fly Fishing and Bamboo Rod Fair to be held at the Black Butte School, in Camp Sherman. The two-day event will be hosted by Roger and Kathy White of the Camp Sherman Store. Visitors may talk with contemporary Northwest bamboo rod builders, view examples of their work, and have a rare opportunity to cast over 200 of these wonderful rods. Sisters Holiday Celebration & Parade — Friday & Saturday, November 28 & 29, 2008
Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 28 in Barclay Park. Join us for this community event and help bring in the holidays. The Christmas Parade is on Saturday, November 29 at 2 p.m. on Hood Avenue. This tradition is fun for the entire family. Following the parade, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the chamber.
