Hoodoo Winter Carnival – CANCELLED
A celebration of the fun and excitement of winter recreation in the Northwest. The day-long schedule of events includes an ax throwing booth, frisbee golf, musical chairs, a three-legged obstacle race, a team tube race, a hula-hoop contest, a pie eating contest, a ski javelin throw, an archery contest, a Hoodoo employee snow sculpture contest and bingo.
The always popular Dummy Downhill contest at 3 p.m. features large figures made by Hoodoo guests. The dummies, which are attached to skis or sled runners, are sent flying down a steep course with a snow-packed jump that leads them to a stunning crash. SPRD Sisters Feasts Series - Buried Beef – Saturday, July 18, 2015
"Buried Beef & Brew" (part of the Sisters Park & Recreation District (SPRD) Sisters Feasts Series) will be held in association with the 2015 Glory Daze Annual Car Show in downtown Sisters, at the corner of Main Ave. and Fir Street, one block north of Cascade Ave. This feast will include buried beef (beef cooked overnight on coals in an underground chamber until it reaches a tender and succulent perfection, plus beer keg beans (made from a secret recipe!). Other side dishes will also be served. Three Creeks Brewing Co. beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase. All proceeds go to SPRD youth programs. Purchase tickets at the door.
